FAQs

Do you guarantee admission to specific colleges?

No— no one ethical can.

What I do guarantee is thoughtful strategy, rigorous preparation, honest reflection, and a process that strengthens self trust

How do you handle highly selective schools?

A balanced list requires a range of selectivity. We will approach highly selective schools with realism, data, and perspective. We willl build a balanced list rooted in fit and growth potential. We do not anchor identity to acceptance rates.

Most sessions will take place online, though I do hope to meet my NYC clients in-person a few times during the cycle when scheduling allows. A mostly virtual format allows for more flexibility, more frequent support, sharing of resources, and ease of scheduling. Consistency is essential to the success of this process, and an “anytime, anywhere” online format removes some of the barriers to achieving that consistency. It also allows us to connect no matter where you live or go to school.

Are all sessions online?

My child is anxious. Can you help?

Yes.

Anxiety often increases when everything feels undefined. Clear structure and reflective conversation lower that intensity. While I am not a clinical therapist, I am experienced in holding space for teens navigating stress.

When are you available for tutoring sessions?

When you go to schedule sessions, you will find plenty of time slots available during afternoons and evenings Monday through Friday, and I accommodate weekend sessions on a case-by-case basis. If you have other circumstances and need to set up a schedule that does not match my posted availability then please reach out and I will do my best to accommodate your specific needs.

How involved are parents?

Parents are a critical part of a student’s support system. Parent perspective is welcome, and parent coaching helps maximize communication during this time and while prioritizing student voice.

What makes you different?

I’ve been called a unicorn in this field. I bring experience as a trained social worker, as a former admission officer in highly-selective admissions offices, and as a college counselor at a NYC independent school. I love equally working with teenagers as well as parents. My approach is about connection while still prioritizing strategy. I care about how your family feels during this season, and I will not treat your child like a brand.

Why Bearfruit?

Through our work together, this process will bear fruit for your family— not only the outcome of admission to a school where your child will be highly successful— but also that your family will appreciate the blossoming and ripening of this season of your lives.
